A lower bitrate can make a music file smaller, with a tradeoff in audio detail. Choose the output bitrate in Telegram and compare the result with your original.
How to use it
Button names below use the English bot interface. Use /language to change your language.
Send your track
Open MusicToolBot and send or forward a track as Telegram audio. A short MP3 is a good starting point.
Choose Bitrate Changer
Select Bitrate Changer from the tool keyboard shown after your upload.
Pick an output bitrate
Choose 128, 192, 256 or 320 kb/s from the keyboard. Lower settings usually use less space; listen to the result to decide whether it suits your recording.
Download the new MP3
The bot re-encodes the track and returns an MP3. Compare its sound and file size with the source, and save the version you prefer.
Example
Compare size at the same duration
- Start with
- 3 minutes at 320 kb/s
- Result
- Choose 128 kb/s for a smaller output
Audio data alone is roughly 7.2 MB at 320 kb/s versus 2.9 MB at 128 kb/s for three minutes. These are estimates, not measured outputs; tags, artwork and encoding overhead also affect size.
Good to know
Higher bitrate cannot restore lost detail
Converting a low-bitrate source to 320 kb/s makes a higher-bitrate file, but it does not recover information already lost in the original encoding.
Changing bitrate re-encodes the audio
The result is a new MP3. Keep your original and avoid repeated conversions when you want to preserve its quality.
Start again for another setting
Use /new and send the original again if you want to compare another bitrate.
